PreK 3 & PreK 4

Welcome to Preschool! The academic program at Brightstar is designed to develop the whole child.  Keeping in mind that learning for children ages 3-4 often takes place through play. Instead of focusing on academic measures alone, BrightStar takes a holistic approach to education, redefining how schools measure success. This approach empowers educators with effective practices and tools to:

Teach LEADERSHIP to every student,

Create a CULTURE of student empowerment,

and align systems to drive results in ACADEMICS.

Which is why BrightStar chose to use Frog Street Pre-k, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that integrates instruction across developmental domains and is aligned to state and national standards. The cornerstones of the curriculum include:

 · Integrated lessons with a defined scope and sequence of instruction

 · Social-emotional development using Conscious Discipline® strategies

 · Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners including English Language

Learners and children with special needs

 · A joyful approach to learning

Citizenship & Character

BrightStar Learning Center believes that creating good citizens with character starts at a very early age.  To facilitate that learning we utilize The Leader in Me Program.  The program provides students with a model and process that addresses common challenges that are unique to students during these formative years. Student Leadership Students at Leader in Me schools are developing the mindsets, behaviors, and skills to be effective lifelong leaders.  Family Involvement Leader in Me provides our students’ families with the information, training, and school resources which empower them to be supportive partners in the development of their child’s social-emotional learning.

Music

BrightStar Learning Center considers music to ignite all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing our scholars to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.
